Offered is a wartime original ‘Flugbuch für Segelflieger’ (flight log book) with nice green colored custom cover by the Flieger-Landesgruppe VII Süd-West of the Deutschen Luftsport-Verbandes (DLV) in DARMSTADT. The holder of the flugbuch belonged to the Flieger-Ortsgruppe Lindenfels (Odenwald) and earned his DLV Abzeichen (Glider Badge) as early as October 1931.
The flight book lists a total of 78 glider flights, flown between February 1931 and December 1934 in various places (Kimbach, König, Brombach, ...). Noteworthy is a "Baumlandung", a crash landing with his glider "Stahlbad" in a tree in October 1934, after which he only flew one last flight.
The Flugbuch is complete and in very good condition, including a portrait photo with two pins in wear, and comes with three extra portrait photos of his later Luftwaffe service. Really a rarely seen DLV item worthy of more research and priced to sell!
