Huge Feldpost / Photo Lot: German Waffen SS Mann Serving as a Pionier with SS Panzergrenadier-Regiment 19 (9. SS Panzer Division “HOHENSTAUFEN”); NORMANDY, France 1944!!!
Offered is a truly magnificent and rare complete paper / photo grouping of a young German Waffen SS Pionier Mann, who saw wartime service with SS Panzer-Grenadier Regiment 19, which was an attached using with the 9. SS Panzer Division “HOHENSTAUFEN”. The lot includes:
Four portrait sized wartime photos of the holder of this grouping, two of which were in his pre-war years and two in Waffen SS uniform (all measuring to be approximately 5.5” x 3.5 inches in size).
100± feldpost letters and envelopes, with handwritten discernible German text, a good number of which were written and sent in 1944, when the 9. SS Panzer Division was involved in heavy fighting in NORMANDY (CAEN), France and later at ARNHEM, Holland (Operation MARKET GARDEN)! An amount of these feldpost letters are missing envelopes but there are a a good number present. Also included are two stamped / marked SS baggage tags along with a Third Reich student application for the holder of this grouping!
