Dagger: Latvian National Socialist / SS Officials Dagger & Scarbbard!!!
Offered is a rare wartime issued Latvian National Socialist / SS officials dagger and leather scabbard. The crossguard is constructed of gilt bronze, featuring a swastika on the obverse, and a Latvian Coat of Arms on the reverse. The grip is constructed of creme-coloured celluloid and features burnished details. The pommel is that of the screw-on type, and is also constructed of gilt bronze, in the shape of a pine cone. The scabbard is constructed of thick and stiff brown leather, with matching gilt bronze fittings that feature two loops for attachment to a dagger hanger and has a Swastika adorned onto a gold plate on one side. While the scabbard and pommel are in amazingly pristine condition, the blade has heavy oxidation / wear, with heavy pitting to the blade noted (see photos). These daggers are not commonly found and ften sell for thousands of dollars. Even with the heavy oxidation of the blade this militaria piece is priced well under what it would normally go for. Not one to be missed!
