Offered is a original wartime issued German 'Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber' (Wound Badge in Silver) Medal. The wound badge offered is complete with fastening pin and catch in place on the reverse side along with a manufacturer’s stamped marking LDO code of ‘L/11’; showing it was manufactured by Wilhelm Deumer in LUDENSCHEID, Germany! This being a hollowed early version of the silver grade makes this militaria piece extremely rare as Deumer produced limited quanities of the hollow version of the wound badge in this grade; with much of its assembly lined being utilized to the manufacture the non-hollow version of this badge. There is noted finish loss to the badge making it almost have a gold tint to its finish; but still a really beautiful rare wartime issued wound badge! Priced to sell!
