Being offered is a unique paper death grouping for a Wehrmacht soldier in a Pionier Truppe, who was KIA in the ILMENSEE (Region) of Russia on the northern front in 1942!

The grouping includes:

  • One original paper (four sided) death notice for this veteran

  • One large wartime photograph of this veteran in uniform (approximately 6.5” x 4.5” inches in size)

  • Six original paper family & friend death notification cards (approximately 5” x 3.25” inches in size)

  • Five large original paper family & friend death notification cards (approximately 6” x 4.25” inches in size)

  • Two one page typed letters to the family of this veteran from his Wehrmacht Leutnant detailing the death and burrial of their son (filled with details including that he was shot in the head while assaulting a Russian position).

  • One three page typed letter dated in 1943 from a Wehrmacht Unteroffizier who served with the veteran to his family, detailing his death (again filled with many details - with feldpost number 09778 being noted).
