Offered is a truly amazing wartime award, paper document and portrait photo grouping for one Wehrmacht Leutnant! The Wehrmacht Leutnant holder of this grouoing showed extensive wartime service on the Ostfront, with service in Nachrichten Abteilung 385 and Nachrichten Abteilung 6. From the documents in this grouping numerosu battles are noted, with combat service being noted in defense of Fortress STALINGRAD in Russia!

The lot offered includes:

Five wartime issued paper award documents, all of which are complete with typed and handwritten entries, official stampings and ink signatures. These awards are for:

  • Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwerten (War Merit Cross 2. Class w/ Swords) issued in 1942

  • Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz (Wound Badge in Black) issued in 1943

  • Die Medaille winterschlacht im Osten 1941/142 (Ostmedaille) issued in 1944

  • Eiserne Kreuz I. Klasse (Iron Cross 1. Class) issued in 1944

  • Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwerten (War Merit Cross 1. Class w/ Swords) issued in 1945

In addition to the paper awards are a number of paper wartime stamped and signed official documents for the holder of this grouping, including re-issuing certificates for duplicate award certificates, acceptance of award re-ssiuance certificate, certificate of air control couse (with Luftwaffe fighter wing ‘Schlachtgeschwader 77’), certificate recording of battles participated on in the Ostfront (including defense of Fortress STALINGRAD!) and a document confirming the holders qualifications for the awarding of Sturmabzeichen (Assualt Badge - this award not in the grouping).

There are also, three oversized large wartime close up portrait photos of the holder of the groping, which show some of the awards this veteran won being worn. These large photos are matted, with some of the matting showing age wear (chipping, breaking, etc.), but the photos being largely intact and in very good condition - all of which with matting measure to be between 12.5” x 9.25 and 9.75” x 7.5” inches in size.
